A Jolt of Joyಮಾದರಿ
Jehoshaphat was one of the good guys of his generation. He was well-employed in reforming his kingdom and in providing for justice. Jehoshaphat, as a man of God, encouraged the people under his rule to fear and serve God wholeheartedly. H-m-m-m ... wish we could find a leader of his caliber today! Jehoshaphat was doing the right thing and living a life of integrity when WHAM! He was blindsided by the enemy who approached his country and brought war into his peaceful kingdom. The nerve of these enemies! The nerve of your enemies as well! We all face formidable enemies and could learn a lesson or two from the young King Jehoshaphat. Jehoshaphat turned his attention to seek the Lord. He did not waste a minute by worrying or by blaming God. Jehoshaphat resolved that his eyes would stay riveted on the Lord regardless of what enemy was headed toward the boundaries of Judah. If you want to win the battle of joy, you will keep your eyes on the Lord. You will waste no time by worrying or by being anxious. You will resolve in your heart that the Lord will have your full and undivided attention regardless of what is happening in your circumstances. So often when we are in a battle, all we talk about is the battle ... the cancer ... the lack of finances ... the nerve of my mother-in-law ... the rebellion of a child. Talk about the Lord when you are in a battle! Choose a scripture and stand on it!
