A Jolt of Joy

DAY 17 OF 31

Never was an army in all of recorded history so prepared as the army of Jehoshaphat in the land of Judah. They had focused on the Lord! They had stayed in the house of the Lord! They had fasted and prayed! They had fallen on their faces in worship! And they had let out a victory shout before the battle had even begun! While the people under the rule of Jehoshaphat were singing and praising, God was doing the fighting. God's principles never change and if you will spend your life singing and praising, God will do the fighting for you. Do you believe it? If you did, you would spent lot less time worrying and a lot more time worshipping! If you truly believed this principle from the book of II Chronicles, you would spend more time praising and less time gossiping. When we follow God's principles and ways found in the Bible, we will always be more than conquerors because we serve a God Who always leads us in triumph! The people in this besieged nation spent 3 days picking up the spoil and even then it was more than they could carry. God is rich in mercy to those who call upon Him in their most desperate moments of life. God will always outdo the prayers and expectations of His people when we choose to worship rather than wail. The people returned to Jerusalem with joy ... they experienced great peace ... and God gave them rest on all sides. That is better than happily ever after, isn't it?!
