In But Not Of: Protected, But Not Safe—Part 3ಮಾದರಿ
Made Holy
Have you heard the word ‘sanctify’ before? Whether you have or you haven’t, here’s what it means. To be sanctified means to be set apart, to be made holy. That sounds like it should apply to something super-important, like an expensive piece of jewelry, or a really old Bible. But do you know who Jesus prayed would be sanctified? You, and everyone who would ever believe in Jesus. Look at John 17:17 NLT: “Make them holy by your truth; teach them your word, which is truth.”
In this one sentence, Jesus made an extremely important connection for you to understand. You are made holy by God’s truth. God’s truth is His Word, which is the Bible. Reading your Bible can sometimes seem like it’s just a chore, or something to check off your list. But here you can see that the Bible is more than just something else to read—it’s the truth—truth that makes you holy. That means that the more you are connected to the Word, the more you start to think, act, and become like Jesus.
Today you are taking a great step toward growing to look more like Jesus. How can you continue to make sure you are connected to the Word?

About this Plan
As Jesus shifts His prayers to the disciples, He asks God for protection from this world. And while Jesus prays for protection, it doesn’t mean that we will be safe. Jesus knows that the world will hate those that follow Him, but He prays that the Word would sustain the head, hearts, and hands of those who follow Him. Part 3
