How does Jesus care for his people?

As our Prophet, Jesus proclaims the Word of God to us. As our Priest, Jesus prays to the Father on our behalf. As our King, Jesus rules over the world, making all things new.

The world can be such a difficult and broken place. We face so many challenges. We are often tempted to turn to many different sources for help: family, friends, movies, music, and so many other places. Sometimes we forget that Jesus is the primary source we should always turn to, and not as our last resort.

The incredible reality is that if we will sit down and open our Bibles, Jesus will meet us. And the Holy Spirit will meet us. And the Holy Spirit will help us to get to know Jesus and will strengthen and guide us step-by-step. We can trust that Jesus will teach us the word and the will of the Father.

Sometimes it is difficult to pray. When we don’t know what to say or think we have to find the words that will make God hear us. But it’s important to remember that Jesus is our great High Priest. He always sits at the right hand of his Father and intercedes—he advocates—for us. The Bible is clear that when we don’t know what words to say, the Spirit expresses our hearts to God 

When your world feels especially broken, when you’re hurting and things aren’t going well and you don’t know what to do, remember that Jesus is in charge. Jesus is the true king of the world. He came to earth so that you could see God’s love in the flesh.

As our Prophet, Jesus teaches us the word of God.

As our Priest, Jesus intercedes for us.

As our King, Jesus is in control of the world.

And he can always be trusted.

Spend some time today in prayer thanking God that his son, Jesus, is not only in charge but is also on your side as your advocate.
