New Breed - Keeping Your Newness Alive

DAY 3 OF 5

Commissioned

Most often we complicate and delay our obedience to what Jesus asked us to do.

Did you ever feel that preaching the Gospel is only a pastor or an evangelist’s job?

It is beautiful that God chooses to partner with each and every one of us who knows of Him as a savior.

While we feel the need to evangelize, many often save it for those rare opportunities. However, it is important to recognize that we are on a mission wherever God has placed us and we need to look for opportunities and create them; not just wait. A change in perspective to know that your identity is first in Christ will drive you for His mission.

Jesus operated in the power of the Holy Spirit all through his ministry; He gave us access to the same power through faith, that we could share in His mission.
Can we take a moment to grasp how big a partnership this is that God loved us enough to lay down His life for us, and would trust us enough work through us in ways beyond the natural?

In John 13:15 Jesus says, “I have set you an example so that you should do as I have done for you.” This is indicative that Jesus set an example for us to follow Him in His mission before commissioning us to do the same.

Our God is a missionary God, He always sends and restores. The Holy Spirit is a Missionary Spirit, empowering us to fulfill our calling, and Jesus was a missionary in action, He first set an example for everything He eventually commanded us to do as well.

Would you accept the privilege of partnering with God in His mission?

What are the areas in your life that you know God has been waiting on you to step into and shine His light?

We should remind ourselves that we share in this calling together and must make intentional efforts in sharing the Gospel to people around us, wherever God has placed us.
