Her Children Arise
Jochebed, Hagar, the Shunammite woman, Tamar, Rahab, Ruth, Bathsheba, and Mary.
There is a reason that these mothers’ stories, and many others, have been eternally sealed in scripture. They are there to teach us truth, give us wisdom, and guide us toward living our lives in a way that will glorify God.
It takes strength to be a mother. It takes confidence and humility, and patience only God can provide. It takes a strong stomach and a weak sense of smell (I have yet to acquire these!). On some days – okay, on a lot of days - I fail miserably at this motherhood thing. And there’s a pattern to my failures. The bad days are the ones when I don’t take the time to go first to our Father before I start my day, before I discipline, before I get annoyed and frustrated and overwhelmed.
Mamas, it’s time for us to come to Jesus. Our reverence of God and our obedience to follow Him is what makes us amazing mothers! These beautiful children we are raising were created and designed by Him. He hands them over to us for a short amount of time to train up to be men and women of God. We need to remember that our role has eternal value. Don’t let that intimidate you because God allows us to cast our cares on Him and pull our strength from Him. Whether you are single, married, have one kid or twelve kids, go to work, stay at home, or work from home – through God, we can be who He created us to be!
I received this sweet message from a friend and I want to bless you with it today! Fill your name in the blank, and then read the message over and over so it burrows deep into your heart, mind and soul.
"____________, Jesus’ grace is sufficient to see you through your days. He has equipped you with His strength and determination. You are a powerful woman of God."
