Brave: Experiencing God In The Waiting

DAY 3 OF 5

We all have this longing, this desire to be loved and wanted, to be seen and heard. But have you ever thought, this desire and wanting that you may think will be fulfilled by your husband isn't what the Lord has planned for you?

They say that you are most like the five people you spend the most time with. Can you look around at your five people and see Christ, feel loved, challenged and pointed to Jesus? If not, it’s time for a change.

It wasn't until I found my life group that I realized the longing I thought was for my husband was actually for friendships. Real, authentic, Christ-centered friendships. The fullness you get when you come into friendships that are Christ-centered is such a humbling experience that everyone needs to feel. When we find this community, it’s like finding a new chapter not yet explored. They become your family that you build for yourself. Not only do they speak truth, they love like Christ, they grow your faith simply by knowing them, and you get to do the same thing for them! Do you have that?

Find those people who are going to build you up. Who will be there in the good and the bad, all the while praising the Lord. When you have those solid Christ-centered friendships, then not only will you be pointed to the Lord growing your relationship, you will realize that the desires you thought were for a husband were truly for authentic friendships.

I encourage you to take a walk, or go sit by yourself somewhere quiet. Think about your friendships. Are they faith building or tearing you down? When you are ready, begin communing with God. Ask Him to show you the friendships you need and the ones you need to take a step back from. Open up His Word and read the Truth He gives you when it comes to friendships.

About this Plan

Brave: Experiencing God In The Waiting

Being in a season of waiting  can feel overwhelming and purposeless. However, because of Gods love we can find bravery, courage and hope  in the midst of it all. You can discover that the wait has a divine purpose. When you lay it all down and surrender, you learn that you are braver than what you once thought you were.
