A FATHER’S WISE ADVICE
When I was younger, the correction from my father came in one ear and went out the other. Now that I have my own son, I have a new appreciation for correction, guidance and instructions.
My wife Abbie and I are constantly guiding and correcting our son Armin. Armin went through this phase where he loved to touch electrical sockets. Every socket he sees, he would want to touch it and stick his finger in it. Even though he cried and refused when we disciplined and corrected him, as parents we will continue to do what is best for him.
As a toddler Armin is lacking in good judgement and requires our guidance and instructions. Our job as parents is to teach, guide and correct when necessary. God does the same through His written word. Our Father in heaven is a good, good father. He loves and cares for us. Part of that love is correcting, guiding, teaching and instructing through His word.
All scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.
God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work. (2 Timothy 3:17)
Is God correcting, guiding and teaching you something today? This is a sign of love not a form of punishment. Don’t resist. Instead, embrace his instructions.

About this Plan
Although the Proverbs seems like a loosely composed wisdom sayings, on a whole they actually present Christians with an opportunity to contemplate Christ who is wisdom in the flesh. The Proverbs that are selected invites you to a practice of 'ora et labora' , we contemplate Christ and work in his world—the essence of Christian life.
