A FATHER'S WISE ADVICE
This verse reminds me of Proverbs 13:20, which states: “Walk with the wise and become wise; associate with fools and get in trouble.” And there is a famous saying that goes like this: “Show me your five closest friends and I'll show you your future.”
It is imperative that we choose wisely whom we allow to be of an influence in our lives. If not careful, we can be influenced to think, act and behave in a manner that is against our good judgement and beliefs.
There was a point of my life where FOMO (fear of missing out) got the better of me. I wanted to experience and do everything that everyone was doing. I thought I was missing out on something good, but it turns out that it only lead to an addiction.
We should be careful with what we entertain and indulge our thoughts with. We are to fix our thoughts on what is true, and honorable and right and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.

The Proverbs that are selected invites you to a practice of 'ora et labora' , we contemplate Christ and work in his world—the essence of Christian life.
