Pause: A Month of Prayer in Five Minutes a Dayគំរូ
Proclaim
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” (Phil. 4:6)
Prompt
Do you ever pray like God is intensely interested in what you have to say? Do you ever talk to God like He’s a best friend who can handle whatever you have to throw up on Him?
Check out this prayer I wrote in my journal not too long ago:
“God, come invade my life today. I need you to overtake my heart and simultaneously renew my mind. Can you do that?! I know you can. I BELIEVE you can. For so long, I’ve walked mindlessly through my life. But today, I woke up needing to WAKE UP! God, please help me today to see you as I once did. Open my eyes to your glory. Stretch me in ways I have never experienced. I will meet you halfway. I pledge to believe today that you are who you say you are and that what your word says is true. You can do all things.”
It's kind of all over the place, but it’s honest. This is what I needed to say to God at that moment, and you know what? Not only can God take it, but God wants YOU to pray like this!
God wants to hear your heart—all of it. Don’t be afraid to bare it before Him in prayer.
Prod
Is anything holding you back from praying vulnerably? How can you remove that obstacle today?

Pray
Jesus, I find my delight in you. You give me joy and hope. And sometimes, I just need you to listen to me and let all my fears, doubts, worries, and anxieties out! Thanks for being a strong listener who can handle whatever I say to you. I trust you. Amen.

Depression. Loneliness. Comparison. Greed. Addiction. People-pleasing. These are tools of the enemy to steal your calling and rob your joy. In this reading plan, drawn from his book, Lance Lang invites you to neutralize those tools by pausing each day, studying scripture, reading encouragement, taking action, and refocusing your attention on Jesus. Press forward into what God has for you. Press pause.
