A Jolt of Joy

ថ្ងៃទី 18 ក្នុងចំណោម 31 ថ្ងៃ

For what does your soul long? Do you long to make the big bucks? Do you long to tell your husband off once and for all? Do you long for a full night's sleep? Do you long to get your own way or express yourself without reserve? The Psalmist longed for the courts of the Lord! David longed to simply spend time with God in the loveliness of all that was found in God's presence. You will never experience the joy that was intended for you, until you solve this issue of your longings in life. When at last you long for the presence of God and for doing life His way and not your own way, it is at that precious moment that you will receive His joy. When at last you realize that your life is not about you ... but that it is about Him ... that you will experience the rich satisfaction of the joy found only in His presence. Your soul's deepest and most urgent longings will only be delighted by Him. I hope that you have experienced the amazing satisfaction that comes from singing a song of praise to God. Next time you "feel" like exploding in anger ... how about singing a song of rich worship instead? Next time you "feel" like telling your side of the story ... how about bowing your head and allowing the words of a hymn to bring peace to your soul? Next time you you are criticized by the girl at work ... how about humming a worship song under your breath? Reprogram your responses from anger to song ... from frustration to worship ... and from impatience to praise. God really does care how we respond to these daily issues of life and I, like the Psalmist of long ago, will choose to sing!
