7-Day Devotional: Set Apart: Trusting God's Sovereignty in Singleness and Childlessnessნიმუში

Day 5: The Beauty of God’s Provision in Relationships
Scripture: Psalm 68:6
"God sets the lonely in families, he leads out the prisoners with singing; but the rebellious live in a sun-scorched land."
Though we may be single or childless, God still provides deep and meaningful relationships. Psalm 68:6 reminds us that God sets the lonely in families—whether through the church, friendships, or other supportive communities. While we may not have biological children or a spouse, God has given us the blessing of belonging to the body of Christ, where we can experience love, care, and companionship.
Ruth’s story in the Bible is a beautiful example of God providing for the lonely and childless. Ruth was widowed, but God placed her in the family of Boaz, where she not only found security and love but became part of the lineage of King David—and ultimately of Jesus Himself. Ruth’s faithfulness and trust in God led to a deeper and more meaningful family than she could have imagined. In the same way, God provides rich and fulfilling relationships in our lives, even if they don't look the way we initially expect.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for the relationships You've provided in my life. Even if I am single or childless, I know that You have placed me in a family through Your Church. Help me to embrace the relationships I have and to build meaningful connections with others. Thank You for surrounding me with love and for reminding me that I belong to You and to Your family. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
