The Rebuild: Matthew 5-7ნიმუში

Have you ever been in a situation where you knew what the right thing to do was, but you didn’t do it? Or didn’t want to do it?
Have you ever had to muster up all your strength to stay away from sinful videos or images? Is it a struggle to be patient during the chaos or be kind to that difficult person? Then, during a moment of weakness, have you fallen over, felt shame and had the cycle repeat again?
Have you ever put aside the law and followed your own way because the desires driving you made you feel good and satisfied in the moment? But then had that little uncomfortable feeling inside, telling you to stop and making you feel conflicted?
Jesus came into the world and lived out the requirements of the law perfectly. He didn’t disregard the law but upheld every aspect of it, from the hardest to the easiest. Jesus fulfilled the law and through that, gave us access to the kingdom of heaven.
Therefore, when we are feeling trapped by laws, let’s not idolise the law or relax it, but let’s look to Jesus. Through faith in Jesus and not our own doing, we likewise uphold the law and look forward to the coming of the kingdom of heaven.
Today, ponder this: Where in your life do you find yourself tempted or in sin? How does Jesus’ death on the cross help you to reflect on your actions? Spend time in prayer now in these areas and commit them to Jesus and consider sharing them with a friend you can be accountable to.

About this Plan

“You have heard it said…” In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus begins to rebuild and reform our understanding of life in His Kingdom. In Matthew 5-7, He challenges the religious traditions of His day and the competing worldviews of our own. His words are a call to transformation—a new way to live under His reign. As Jesus lays the foundation for His Kingdom, we are invited to tear down false beliefs and build our lives on His truth.
