I see the faithfulness of God reflected in my 94-year-old grandfather.
In dedication to his faith, Pop is faithful.
In volunteering and serving his community, Pop is faithful.
In work and sharing knowledge, Pop is faithful.
In sickness, tragedy and heartbreak, Pop is faithful.
He is also the personification of ‘It is because of the Lord’s loving kindnesses that we are not consumed’ in my world. He made it through a world war?! The man has stories.
Now my Pop might sound pretty epic, and I think he is. He’s also human just like the rest of us.
Yet if we allow God, He can renew us with His tender love and compassion each day, so our life can be a reflection of His faithfulness to us in the lives of those around us.
Will we nail it every day? Nope. But will God show up again, full of grace, love and compassion to help us try again? Heck yes, He will. ‘Great and beyond measure is Your faithfulness’ (Lamentations 3:23b) and that makes all the difference – belief to try again.
Accept His offer of help and invite Him into your day. Then watch what He can do with the frustrating, broken and ‘human’ parts of your life.
