God's Faithfulnessნიმუში

God's Faithfulness
When instructing his disciple Timothy to disciple others, Paul says that, irrespective of how people respond to the Lord, we should be faithful to Him and that the Lord is faithful to Himself. God’s faithfulness is demonstrated by His unshakable focus on the redemption of mankind. This is summarised in the prophecy that Isaiah made 700 years before the birth of Jesus. It says – ‘Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise Him; He has put Him to grief. When You make His soul an offering for sin, He shall see His seed, He shall prolong His days, And the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in His hand’ (Isaiah 53:10 NKJV).
Not only does history prove the effective implementation of this divine plan through the virgin birth of Jesus and His years of miraculous ministry on earth, but it also culminated in Christ willingly going to the cross to be crucified for our sins. Jesus faithfully chose to obey His heavenly Father until the end irrespective of the cost (Matthew 26).
How then does God’s faithfulness affect us? Firstly, it says that nothing and no one can stop God’s will and plans from coming to pass. Secondly, it encourages us, like Paul, Timothy and the disciples down throughout history, to align ourselves with this great eternal plan, to see the name of the Lord exalted and to see our part in His plan, irrespective of what that might be and irrespective of the response and faithfulness of others.
