Gone Fishin'

"Go Dodgers!"

That's how I started a conversation with Rick, 42, who was wearing a Dodger hat. Gina had prayed with me again before I left that someone would pray to receive Christ. We talked Dodgers for 5 minutes. He was relaxing before going home to care for his Mom who is recovering from a heart attack and needs knee surgery. His sisters don't live near so the load is all on him.

He asked what I do. I said I come here to give people a 10-question religious survey, and would he? Sure! With a Catholic background, but not active, his lack of biblical knowledge was clear. Rick realized he was a man with a need for salvation. He saw he was sinful and understood being good just wasn't a way to get forgiven. He fully agreed with the Steps To Peace with God prayer after going through it. He put his faith in Christ.

He doesn't have a Bible but thinks his mother does but has never seen it. He gladly installed the Bible app by YouVersion. I prayed with him for wisdom about helping his Mom move near a sister and praised God for his decision. I thanked God for our meeting and asked for protection from Satan's attacks on Rick.

We walked out together and took a selfie (but I only got myself in it!!). Didn't know that, and sent it to him. We laughed by text and he said "I'm so glad I met you!"

Please pray for Rick to read his Bible and grow strong in his faith. Thanks again!
