Gone Fishin' Eight

DAY 1 OF 5

Gone Fishin'

"I'm Not Sure There Is A Heaven."

Jim answered my, "Waiting on your wife?" with a solemn "Yes!" Jim just retired and has hearing aids but seldom wears them because it echoes. He didn't want to do the 10 questions because he would have to keep asking me to repeat them. He has a terrific sense of humor and we laughed a lot during our time together.

So I asked him the first question without actually using the survey and we easily went through all 10 questions. :) Jim clearly knows he is a sinner. He isn't sure he believes in heaven. He asked what is the difference between Protestants, Catholics, and Baptists and he wanted to know where I went to church. He clearly does not understand the Gospel.

He wanted to know why I am even here. I explained, "I care for people and want them to recognize the need to repent so they could enter heaven by trusting Jesus Christ." I had given him my card earlier so he scanned the QR code right there! He said, "You were one bad boy!"

Again, He was trying to figure out if I was reporting in to some church or something and why I was really doing this. When I got ready to leave he wanted to know if I was disappointed. I explained my prayer had not been answered in that he had decided to follow Christ but I was joyful inside. Because I had obeyed God's leading to talk with him. and that I felt God had me here specifically for him - that it wasn't a coincidence. I explained what a God-Incidence was. He got it.

We've had two more extended conversations at the mall since. Still not seeing the need.
But, God SENT Me To Him...

Pray right now for Jim. Ask God to open his eyes to the need of the Savior Jesus Christ. Thank you!

Day 2

About this Plan

Gone Fishin' Eight

Many people are smiling, but hurting inside. I have discovered that God is doing something in everyone's life, and He's doing something in mine too! I'm loving/praying for strangers like never before. And they are grateful. These personal stories in my life are to help you help others move one step closer to God.
