Burst Your Christian Bubble

DAY 3 OF 5

Breaking Out of the “Christian Bubble”

“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.”
Matthew 3:14-15 (NIV)

Many Christians spend most of their time surrounded by other believers—at church, in small groups, and in Christian activities. While community is important, we must remember Jesus calls us to be light to the world.

Breaking out of the “Christian bubble” doesn’t mean abandoning your faith community; it means expanding your circle to include those who don’t know Jesus yet. Jesus modeled this beautifully—He regularly engaged with sinners, tax collectors, and people society rejected.

Start where you are:

  • Are there non-believers in your workplace, school, or neighbourhood?
  • Do you avoid opportunities to connect with people who believe differently than you?

Being “salt and light” means living in a way that reflects Christ’s love. Be intentional about building friendships outside your church circle. Attend local events, join community groups, or simply show up where others are. Your presence, kindness, and willingness to listen can open doors for God to work.

When you step out of your comfort zone, you position yourself to share Jesus in authentic and meaningful ways. Remember, your light shines brightest in places of darkness.

What areas of your life might need intentional effort to break out of the "Christian bubble"?

Pray:

Jesus, help me be salt and light in the places You’ve called me to. Give me courage to connect with those who need to see Your love. Amen.

About this Plan

Burst Your Christian Bubble

Sharing Jesus starts with having meaningful relationships with non-Christians. This 5-day devotional helps you step beyond the "Christian bubble" and build real relationships with people who don’t yet know Him. Through reflection, practical insights, and examples from Jesus' own life, you’ll discover how to engage with others authentically—listening, loving, and walking alongside them in everyday moments. Learn how simple, intentional interactions can open the door to life-changing conversations about faith.
