The overshadowing power of God
What comes to mind when you think about the word “overshadow?” You may relate it to submerging something, say a cloth, in water. What happens to such a cloth? Thoroughly soaked with water? Yes. So when the angel Gabriel told Mary that the Holy Spirit would come upon her and the power of God would overshadow her, he meant that the divine force that would bring what he told Mary would be of God. Today, I am happy to tell you that you need such a power to accomplish God’s dreams in your life.
God’s power had to overshadow Mary so that she would be completely delivered from using her personal methods to bring God’s prophecies to manifestation. God knows that the humans He has created are clever in thoughts, which can affect how He wants things done. That is why He insists that we believers always live by the Spirit (Galatians 5:25) and not lean on our own understanding (Proverbs 3:5).
Never think you are wiser than God. Don’t use your previous experience to judge matters concerning divine things, or else you may be mistaken several times. Ask God for wisdom. Let His Spirit guide you, and you will make good choices.
