Dark Hatred Needs Light

Loving people is one of God’s greatest commands. Love is a choice we make to show that we follow God. When we think about loving other people, it’s easy to think it just includes people who probably don’t know Jesus and need to see what God’s love looks like. It’s possible to hang around other Christians, see their faults, and end up hating them for their failures, mannerisms, and pride. Sometimes, we don’t even need to find fault to hate another Christian. If you find yourself in this dark place, God’s Word says you’ve turned your back on the light of Jesus. In that darkness, you’ll discover it’s very hard to see where God wants you to go. You’ll also find it hard to experience joy, peace, and satisfaction. Christians should spend time together. Choosing to love another Christ-follower may be a key to your own spiritual health. It’ll definitely improve your vision.

Prayer: Dear God, You’re not a God of hatred, but love. That love isn’t just for those who need to know Your Son, but those who already do. Help me love my Christian family even when they get on my nerves. Amen.
