A few days back, I talked about how challenges can intensify when we seek God. It's the truth – opposition arises when we take steps towards Him. In the book of Ezra, we see how God protected His people from enemies and bandits.

Ezra humbled himself through fasting and prayer to seek God's protection. And guess what? God came through for them!

In Ezra's time, the Messiah hadn't been born yet. He was just a prophecy. But today, God has blessed us with the Messiah and the Holy Spirit, guiding us through our journey on Earth.

Jesus, the Word of God, is our ultimate role model when it comes to overcoming temptation and facing tough circumstances. During His fasting and prayer before the crucifixion, Jesus was tempted. And you know how He fought it? Through speaking the Word of God!

Not only that, but Jesus regularly addressed people by speaking the Word of God.

What does all this mean for us?

We can't face this battle of faith alone. We are called to declare God's plans, His Word, over ourselves, our families, and our possessions. Just like Jesus was one with the Father, we too should desire that intimate connection with our Heavenly Father.

At the time of this writing, I was facing challenges I discussed with my daughter. She not only prayed for me but also reminded me to find specific scriptures to declare over our situations. And today, I want to remind you of the same.

I believe this is God's desire for us. As I prepared to write this fast, I had an outline for the 21 days. When I got to this day, the topic I had prepared happened to be: the decree of your plans.

It was God's way of confirming that we need to seek His Word, discover His plans for our lives, and faithfully declare them.

I personally sought the word of God that day and He gave me a fresh word from the book of Zechariah. Why don't you do the same and seek a fresh word from God for you today?

Prayer: Lord, I desire to come into agreement with Your plans for my life. Lead me in writing down the details of what I want to see rebuilt in my life. Guide me in finding Scripture to speak over these areas daily during my fasting time. Grant me the faith to act on Your plans, even when they seem impossible. I trust that Your timing is perfect and that You will bring forth the fulfillment of Your purposes. In Jesus' name, Amen.
