31 Values to Pray for Your Kids

DAY 29 OF 31

Prayerfulness

A prayer warrior is not limited by age. Your child or grandchild could be a prayer warrior today; it is modeled in their life. Prayerfulness is a consistent practice of seeking God's presence and guidance in every aspect of their lives.

In Ephesians 6:18, Paul encourages believers to pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. This highlights the importance of maintaining a posture of prayerfulness in our daily lives, recognizing that prayer is our direct line of communication with God. Prayer is an all-day event that we participate in constantly and consistently.

Philippians 4:6-7 reminds us to present our requests to God with thanksgiving, and the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. This passage underscores the transformative power of prayer to bring peace in any situation. As we model a life of prayerful dependence on God for our children, we invite them into a more profound experience of His peace.

In 1 Samuel 1:1-20, we encounter the story of Hannah, a woman who pours out her heart to God in fervent prayer for a child. Despite her deep longing and years of waiting, Hannah remains steadfast in her faith and trust in God's faithfulness. Her example teaches our children and us the power of persistent prayer and unwavering trust in God's timing and provision.

Pray:

Father, in Jesus’ name, we come before you with hearts full of gratitude for the gift of prayer and the privilege of coming into your presence. We pray for our children that you would instill a spirit of prayerfulness, a consistent practice of seeking your presence and guidance in every aspect of their lives.

Grant them the wisdom to pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. May they cultivate a habit of prayer, knowing that you are always near and ready to listen to their every need.

Help them present their requests to you with thanksgiving, trusting in your promise to grant them peace that surpasses all understanding. May their lives be marked by deep peace and contentment as they rest assured of your love and care.

May they follow the example of Hannah pouring their hearts to you in fervent prayer and trusting your faithfulness to answer according to your perfect will and timing. We pray in the mighty and powerful name of Jesus, amen.
