31 Values to Pray for Your Kids

DAY 25 OF 31

Hope

We want our children to grow into adults rooted in hope, a confident expectation of God's promises that sustain them through life's difficulties. In a world often overshadowed by uncertainty and fear, the call to hope is a beacon of light, illuminating a path to peace and joy.

In Romans 15:13, the apostle Paul blesses us with this prayer: "May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." This reminds us that our hope is not based on fleeting circumstances but on the unchanging character of God. As we teach our children to trust in Him, we invite them to experience the joy and peace that flow from a life anchored in hope.

Psalm 42:11 captures the cry of the psalmist's heart: "Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will praise him, my Savior and God." We must turn our eyes to the source of our hope, Jesus Christ. As we lead our children to place their hope in Him, we empower them to rise above their circumstances and praise Him even amid adversity.

In Mark 4:35-41, we witness Jesus calming the storm, demonstrating His power over the forces of nature and the storms of life. This miraculous event is a potent reminder that we can place our hope and trust in Jesus, who is always with us amid life's storms. As we meditate on this story with our children, we reassure them that no matter their challenges, they can find peace and security in the presence of their Savior.

Pray:

Father, in Jesus’ name, we come before you with hearts full of gratitude for the hope that we have in you. We pray for our children that you would fill them with a confident expectation of your promises, a hope that anchors their souls amid life's storms.

Grant them the joy and peace that come from trusting in you so that they may overflow with hope by the power of your Holy Spirit. May their hope in you be a source of strength and encouragement, guiding them through every trial and challenge they face.

Help them put hope in you even when their souls are downcast and disturbed. May they find their refuge and strength in you, praising you as their Savior and God. We pray in the mighty and powerful name of Jesus, amen.
