DAY 5 OF 5

Your Prayers are Far More Powerful Than You Know

Over 36 years ago, as a freshman in college, I surrendered my heart to Christ, and God radically transformed my life. He gave me a new heart, a new life, and a new reason to live!

The weight of my sin had been lifted and I began my new life with Jesus… but I remember hitting a wall early on in my walk when it came to prayer. I often felt as though my prayers weren’t going beyond the ceiling. I remember wondering if God was too busy to care about my prayers.

Can you relate?

Despite this, almost all of us have, at some point, fallen to our knees, bowed our heads, focused on God, and prayed. Why? Because God innately placed the desire to reach out to Him for help within us—and prayer is an essential part of winning the spiritual battles we face each and every day!

Friend, the truth is God delights in answering your prayers. He is our Father, and His power and presence—found through prayer—can handle any difficulty, dilemma, or discouragement. I’ve seen this countless times in my own life. In fact, I’ve heard it said, when we work, we work; but when we pray, God works.

There may be times when you pray and feel like nothing’s happening, but recognize this—your prayers are far more powerful than you often realize. There are many examples in the Word of God, such as when great men like Daniel, Paul, and Peter prayed. Even the church in Jerusalem prayed for Peter’s deliverance from jail in Acts 12—they prayed, and God’s power was released. We need never lose sight of the fact that God answers prayer.

Fortunately, Jesus modeled to us what it looks like to seek God in prayer! In Mark 1:35, we see that in the midst of healing many people and preaching in Galilee, Jesus went out and departed to a solitary place, where He prayed. Be encouraged today, and don’t wait any longer—you can dive into the rich, abundant prayer life God wants you to enjoy today!

As you engage with God’s Word:

● What is God saying to me?

● What does it mean to me?

● How can I apply what God is teaching me?

● How can I be specific in prayer today?

After you reflect on these questions, bring everything to God in prayer. To discover more faith-building resources like this, I want to personally invite you to sign up for my weekly devotional email today!

About this Plan

SpiritualEYES

The battles we face—the struggles, fears, and conflicts—are not simply random events. The challenges we encounter in the physical realm often originate in the spiritual realm. Fortunately, Scripture equips us to prevail in the battle we face against the power of darkness! Join me in this five-day journey as we learn to see the supernatural and be equipped to confront the enemy and win.
