DAY 5 OF 10

THE WAY TO FREEDOM (MODULE 3)

SHUT THE HOUSE (PART B) - INTERNAL

Today we will look at the INTERNAL entry points that we need to close to stop the enemy from having a hold on our lives. As mentioned yesterday, the internal entry points refer to things that we have control over, and this is something that starts from within us. As a reminder, the process that we will use to deal with these entry points is as follows:

READ: Each entry point will come with a brief explanation and supporting scripture to help you understand the entry point.

REFLECT: Think about which entry point has been left open in your life. It is important that you are honest and real with yourself.

RENOUNCE: Pray a prayer of repentance to God and renouncement of sin. This is where we break the power of sin over our lives.

ENTRY POINT 4 - WILLFUL DISOBEDIENCE:

Willful disobedience is any form of sin we are willfully committing, knowing that it is wrong, yet still doing it. In Matthew 7, Jesus introduces us to the parable of the wise and foolish builder. The wise builder chooses to build his house on the rock, and the foolish builder chooses to build his house on the sand. As the storms beat against the houses, the one built on sand falls apart, but the one built on the rock stays standing. Jesus likens the wise builder to a person who hears the word of God and puts it into practice, whereas the foolish builder is likened to the person who hears the word of God but does NOT put it into practice. For the ‘practising hearer’ their house will stand when they face the storms of life. But for the ‘non-practising hearer’, satan can now demand that God fulfill his promise that their house will come down when they face their storms. - “Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin.” - James 4:17 NKJV

ENTRY POINT 5 – LOVE OF MONEY:

The love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. The Bible is not saying that money is the root of all evil; money is not a bad thing at all and has been used to expand the kingdom around the world. This issue is not money, but the LOVE of it. The main concern is our heart. The unfortunate truth is many of us end up prioritizing money over God. But Matthew 6:23-25 reminds us that we cannot serve 2 masters, meaning that we need to make our choice: do we have money or does money have us? As we close this door in our lives, our heart is to put God above everything in our lives. He is higher than our careers, our relationships, our dreams, our families and our resources. We will never come last, by putting God first. “For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.” - 1Timothy 6:10 NKJV

ENTRY POINT 6 - JUDGMENTS:

Judgment is when we create a hierarchy about something or someone to determine their value and worth. Sometimes we judge people based on what they wear, how they look, where they are from, what they have done, their past, their problems, their mistakes and their relationships. These judgments can determine how we treat and value those that we judge. Generally, we have made judgments in 3 different areas. We judge OTHERS, OURSELVES, and GOD. If you have ever made a judgment in one of those areas, biblically you are putting yourself in a dangerous position, because in the same we treat others, we will also be treated ourselves. “Judge not, and you shall not be judged. Condemn not, and you shall not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.” - Luke 6:37 NKJV

RENOUNCEMENT PRAYER 4 - WILLFUL DISOBEDIENCE:

Dear God, I have willfully chosen to rebel against You and disobey Your Word. I now choose to turn from the sin (name the sins) and I now turn to you. Thank You, Lord, that because you shed your blood and died on the cross for me, I can now receive your forgiveness. I now close the entry point of willful disobedience; in Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.

RENOUNCEMENT PRAYER 5 – LOVE OF MONEY:

Dear God, I confess that I have loved money more than I have loved You and have not trusted You to meet all of my needs. Forgive me for allowing other things to be more important than You (confess the sins). Thank You, Lord, that You are the source of my provision and I choose to serve You alone. I now close the entry point of the love of money; In Jesus’ Name, I pray. Amen.

RENOUNCEMENT PRAYER 6 - JUDGMENTS:

Dear God, I confess that my judgment over myself, over others, and over You is sin (name the sins). I ask that you forgive me and release me from them. I declare that You are a good God. I praise You that every one of your thoughts and actions toward me are for my good. I thank You that my relationship with You is restored. I close the entry point of judgments against myself, others, and You; in Jesus' Name, I pray Amen.

About this Plan

Freedom

Jesus didn’t die just so you could get a free ticket into heaven, He died to set you free on this side of eternity. Over the next 10 days we will go on a life-changing journey as we discover the enemy’s strategy to keep us trapped in the cycles of sin and learn the tools that we have been given to step into a life of FREEDOM.
