Speak Well: Learning the Language of God

DAY 3 OF 7

Day 3: Seeing the Face of God Through His Creations

Devotional:

As a young girl, I remember being at church one day standing on the basketball courts that we had in the back of the building. I recall looking up at the sky and seeing the outline of a face. Only the eyes and the structure of the face appeared but I could tell that it was the structure of a man. At the time, I was standing there with my dad, and I remember asking him if he could see what I saw. Of course, his perspective was different but no matter how hard I tried to convince myself that this was just my imagination, I kept seeing that figure in the sky. It was as if the eyes were following me.

At that moment I wasn’t sure what I saw or if I even saw anything at all. I wasn’t familiar with hearing from God directly at that time in my life. I had no language to describe my experience. However, I was recently reminded of this moment. God revealed to me through this recollection, that He has always had His Eyes on me.

There have been many moments between my adolescent years and now my young adult years where I’ve felt hidden or unseen. Can you relate? It’s almost like you recognize all the things that you have deposited in the Earth, but you don’t feel acknowledged for it. However you feel, find comfort in knowing that God has His Eyes on you, you are never out of His Sight. God always speaks to your situation. All you must do is “look up.”

Scripture Breakdown:

Psalm 121 tells us that everything we need comes from the Lord. He will never allow us to stumble for He is always aware of our situation. He is a Keeper, Protector, and Covering. God will guard our coming and our going in everything that we do. Find comfort in knowing that we serve a God who meets us where we are.

Clarity and understanding are your portion. Speak Well.
