Building Rock Solid Faithნიმუში

Rock as Refuge
Because rock is strong, it can serve as a place of shelter. Ancient city walls were constructed of rock. In Israel, Masada is an ancient fortress near the Dead Sea constructed on top of a high rock formation. Its location made it almost impossible for enemies to reach.
The Bible contains a number of stories of people hiding in a cave or rock crevice when they were pursued by people or wild animals. As a young man, David hid from his enemies in a cave. In 2 Samuel 22:2-3, he sang, “The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge.”
God tucked Moses into a deep crack in a rock and covered him with His hand (Exodus 33:22) to protect him as God’s glory passed by. There are many times in life when we need God’s protection. He is a safe place in times of danger and distress.
