Teach Us to Pray

DAY 3 OF 7

The Intent of Prayer

Upon embracing the Lordship of Christ in our lives, we are granted entry into His Kingdom. As citizens of God's Realm, we shoulder the duty of actively pursuing His Kingdom's Presence in every dimension of our lives. Therefore, when we offer the prayer, "May your kingdom come and your will be done on earth as it is in heaven," it carries a profound intent that revitalises our prayers—a steadfast dedication to materialising God's Kingdom in every facet of our being.

When we utter this prayer, it emerges as a heartfelt expression of our deepest yearning—a fervent desire for God's Divine Sovereignty to saturate every dimension of our existence. It is a heartfelt plea for His Righteousness, Justice, Love, and Supreme Authority to break through the fractures and imperfections of our world, ushering in a wave of healing, transformation, and rejuvenation.

It is imperative to understand that the scope of this Prayer's purpose stretches far beyond the boundaries of religious rituals or personal devotions. It extends as an all-encompassing invitation for God's Kingdom to unfurl its banner in every sphere of existence —whether in business, commerce, politics, academia, media, culture, trade, and beyond.

So, as you find yourself seated at your desk, be it in an office, school, garage, or college, consider embarking on your day with a simple yet profound prayer: "Lord, may Your Kingdom come, and may Your Will be done in my space." In this humble invocation, you align your heart with the Divine Purpose, bringing forth the potential for transformation and renewal in your corner of the world.

Reflection Question

  • How can you actively work towards promoting God's Kingdom in your family, workplace, and the broader society?
  • Are there specific challenges or is there brokenness in your life or community that you can lift up in prayer, seeking God's Guidance and transformation?
  • As you go about your day, what small steps can you take to be a beacon of God's Light and bring transformation to the world around you?

Prayer

As I embark on this day, I pray: "Lord, let Your Kingdom come, and let Your Will be done." May I be a vessel of Your Light, bringing forth transformation and renewal wherever I go. In Jesus Name, I pray. Amen.

About this Plan

Teach Us to Pray

The Lord's Prayer, a cornerstone of Christian devotion, has the potential to become rote and mechanical when recited daily without deeper contemplation. Yet, within each line of this prayer, Jesus imparted profound wisdom and spiritual significance to His disciples. Join me on a 7-day devotional journey as we peel back the layers of familiarity and seek to make this prayer deeply personal and profoundly meaningful.
