Not Okay

DAY 16 OF 28

Imagine that you and your friends had never played the game of Monopoly before. Then, one day, you find the box in a closet, pull it out, and decide to play it. There's no rule book or instructions, so you try to figure out how to play all on your own. Do you think you would guess any of the rules correctly? What's all the fake money for? Why are there little plastic houses? How do the cards work?

If you're just guessing how to play a board game, you'll probably guess wrong. That's why we have instruction manuals! As long as you've got a rule book close by, you don't have to guess what's right and wrong. You can just check the rules.

If you try to guess what it means to navigate life, you might be just as confused. Life is complicated, with lots of moving pieces and unexpected changes. You shouldn't just try to figure it out on your own . . . and according to the Bible, you don't have to.

The Bible says that Jesus holds all of creation together. He is basically the one who made the game! He knows all the rules and, even more importantly, loves you and wants you to know right from wrong. If you're stressed and worried about what steps to take or what the guidelines are, you've got a connection to someone who wants to help you.

About this Plan

Not Okay

We'll look at four major stressors we all deal with and see how God's words can give us comfort, guidance, and help with each of them. We'll talk about what Jesus offers you when you're not okay, what God wants you to know when people reject you, what to do when it's not easy to do what's right, and when we feel worried, we'll see what God has to say.
