WORKING the WORDSample

WORKING the WORD

DAY 1 OF 5

WORKING THE WORD

Hebrews 4:12 “For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.”

Does the Word of God really work? How can I take God’s Word for what it is?

It is important to note that our experiences do not negate the authenticity of the Word of God. In fact, the authenticity of the Word of God can and should influence our experiences. That is why Paul said in Romans 3:4 “God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged.” (KJV) Your circumstances do not and cannot make God a liar. When we know how to work the Word, and when the Word works in our lives, the difference is evident.

1 Thessalonians 2:13 “Therefore, we never stop thanking God that when you received his message from us, you didn’t think of our words as mere human ideas. You accepted what we said as the very word of God—which, of course, it is. And this word continues to work in you who believe.” This scripture is telling us that we are to receive the Word of God for what it is, the Word of God. Not as human ideas, but as the Word of God. Men are flawed, but when men stand ministering, they stand as the oracles of God. And the words they speak become God's Word, not their own ideas. 2 Chronicles 20:20 “…Believe in the Lord your God, and you shall be established; believe His prophets, and you shall prosper.” (NKJV)

When you engage with God’s Word, you are to receive it as God’s Word. Therein lies the power, efficacy, and effectiveness of God's Word. It is in the Word. And healings and deliverances are in the Word. When the Word works in you as a believer, you are preserved, strengthened, empowered, and lifted. Everything is hinged on the Word of God. And in the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, the Word will work in your life.

Matthew 9:29 “…According to your faith let it be done to you.” (NIV) The Word of God is true. However, if it is going to be effective in my life it is up to me. The effectiveness of the Word of God in your life is up to you. You get to choose, according to your faith, it will be done unto you. Hebrews 4:2 “…the word which they heard did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in those who heard it.” (NKJV) It is your faith that makes God's Word work in your life.

Prayer: Father, in the Name of Jesus, I pray that Your Word will accomplish all that You want it to and prosper in my life for Your Glory. Amen.
