Resist the anxiety
I used to hear about anxiety and even though I tried to put myself in the shoes of the other, I did not understand it. There are things that until we live them, we do not truly understand them.
As I write these lines I remember how it all started. At that time I was doing my university studies and I was very busy, as we usually say when we have a lot of homework.
First came the panic attacks and then the thoughts of "you can't do it", "you won't make it", and "give up, because tomorrow you won't be able to go on with your life". Later I had episodes in which I felt like currents of water running down my arms, a weight on my shoulders, and a knot in my chest; of course, all this was accompanied by negative thoughts.
Then the following day, everything was fine. It was a lie that I was not going to be able to, it was a lie that anxiety had made me believe.
In the process, I learned that there is only one way to resist this. This is, listening to the voice of God above any other. Anxiety is going to tell you things like the ones I mentioned above. But what does God say?
The Bible says to cast all of our anxiety on him. God does not ignore human anxiety. On the contrary, he encourages us to depend on him, even in anxiety, because he cares for us.
Resist!
Present your morning, afternoon, and evening prayer. God will hear your cause.
