Faith & Love: A One Year Bible Reading Plan - Part 6Sample
In Acts 20, we find Paul on his third missionary journey, traveling throughout Asia Minor and Greece to spread the gospel. Paul knew this journey would be his last, and he was determined to make the most of the time he had left.
One of the most significant moments in this chapter is when Paul addresses the church elders in Ephesus. He reminds them of his faithful service to the Lord and his commitment to preaching the gospel, even in the face of persecution and suffering.
In Acts 20:24, Paul says, "But I do not account my life of any value nor as precious to myself, if only I may finish the course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.”
This verse shows us that Paul was willing to lay down his life for the gospel's sake. He knew that his time on earth was short, and he was determined to finish the race that God had set before him. His commitment to the gospel challenges us to consider how we use our time and resources to further the kingdom of God.
So, as we reflect on this chapter, here is a question to ponder: how can we follow Paul’s example and be more committed to sharing the gospel with those around us, even in the face of opposition or difficulty? What steps can we take to intentionally use our time and resources to advance God’s Kingdom?
