DAY 3 OF 12

Day 3: Relationships and Decisions for the Future

Jeremiah 29:11 New International Version (NIV)

11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Do you realize that God has plans for you? Of course, your family, friends, teachers, coaches, and mentors also have plans for you. Maybe those plans pressure you into decisions that you aren’t sure about pursuing. Maybe you are facing the future with uncertainty. What happens if you let the voices of other humans or your own overshadow the voice of God? With practice, you can balance the relationships with your support system and your commitment to God. I encourage you to stay rooted in God through prayer and Bible reading so that you will be aware of Him in your life. Choosing to engage with this devotion is a perfect way to keep your thoughts on Him. When you communicate with God every day, your plan and His plan for your life will align powerfully.

Also, here's a hint. God doesn't care if you live in Ohio or California, and He won't abandon you if you choose to be an engineer instead of a musician. Your purpose is to share His love with others and teach them about Jesus. That's it. Live in Chicago and work as a taxi driver. God will be good with that if you have the peace that passes understanding in your heart about the decision and if you become the hands and feet of Jesus to the people in your life, pursuing healthy relationships.

·How do you actively search for God’s plan in your life?

·How do the people in your life affect your decisions about your future?

·To what extent do you believe that your plan and God's plan for this season of your life align?

·What about the future seasons? How do you see your goals lining up with God’s goals for you?
