Finding and Flourishing in Your Place in the Church

DAY 23 OF 30

RELATE WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT AS THE COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF

After salvation, the Holy Spirit is not just to bring our sonship into manifestation but also comes in as the Commander-in-Chief. The problem with many Christians is that we relate wrongly with the Holy Spirit because we lack this understanding. Many of us think of the Holy Spirit as our errand boy. Some of us have probably told Him, “Holy Spirit, go and do this one thing for me!” That is never the way to relate with the Holy Spirit. It is a wrong position to take towards Him.

When the Holy Spirit comes into our lives, He comes in as the Commander-in-Chief. He does not take instructions or counsel from us, but it is the other way around – He gives us instructions and counsel. Some other Christians like to relate to Him as a weapon. At every opportunity to pray, they shout, “Holy Ghost fire! Holy Ghost fire!” The Holy Ghost is not a weapon. He is the Commander-in-Chief. He is a Person. He comes in as our Commander-in-Chief to give us the strategy and instructions for a victorious Christian life.

The Holy Spirit was the last Person the Lord Jesus introduced the Church to when He was about to leave because He is the Commander-in-Chief on earth. He is the One that has the strategy, keys, information, codes, units, and everything needed for the positioning of the soldiers for victory in the battle.

The Holy Ghost guides the believers and shows us things to come. As our Commander-in-Chief, He will show you things, not after they have come, but before they come. In the world, they are wiser after the event, but we are wiser before the event in the Kingdom. This is because our Commander-in-Chief knows tomorrow better than you know yesterday.

PRAYER: I have the advantage in this world as I maintain my obedience to the Holy Spirit as the Commander-in-Chief in my walk with God in Jesus’ name. Amen!

About this Plan

Finding and Flourishing in Your Place in the Church

After genuine salvation, God places His children in a church family where they can flourish, blossom, bud, and fill the face of the earth with fruits. Church is God-ordained and when He brings you to a church, beyond a seat in the church, He gives you a spot in your pastor’s heart. This 30-day study would lead you into an experience and understanding of correct church membership.
