DAY 4 OF 7

"The Cause of Christ"

Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had appointed for them. When they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some doubted. And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen. Matthew 28:16-20

Have you ever considered the reason why we’re on this earth? It’s a question everyone has dealt with in their lives in one form or another, because within each of us God has placed a desire for purpose (see Ecclesiastes 3:11).

This very same question drove the writing of “The Cause of Christ,” because the fact is, there can be a lot of whys in life. But at the end of the day, I want to know Jesus more than I want to be able to understand. And there’s an incredible joy found in that place.

It is not fame that I desire
Nor stature in my brother's eye
I pray it's said about my life
That I lived more
To build Your name than mine

- From "The Cause of Christ"

I think that if we would all take that stance in our lives and posture ourselves before God in that way, we would see God move in and through us in powerful ways.

I believe with all of my heart that we have been put on this earth for such a time as this — to fulfill God’s heart for mankind and bring salvation and hope to the world through the message of the cross of Jesus Christ.

We are the church, and I pray that we would long for God’s presence to fall afresh on us and fill the atmosphere with His glory and wonder in greater measure.
