Made New Prayer DevotionalSample
THOUGHT OF THE DAY
Once we have done the diligent work to understand and dwell on the scripture, letting it sink into our hearts, we come to this place where our hearts often yearn for more. We are not called to only comprehend these words alone, but to let the Words of God change us on a personal level. We ought to become a person who participates in bringing the kingdom of God to Earth.
Let’s continue to walk through John 14:18-21:
I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. Yet a little while and the world will see me no more, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live. In that day you will know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you. Whoever has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me. And he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him.
Today, read this portion of scripture out loud three times, each slower than the last. As you read, what seemed to stand out to you the most? Underline the portion you think the Holy Spirit is leading you to turn to action.
GUIDED PRAYER
Father, help me to be a person of action. Let this time spent in Your word be like seeds falling onto good ground. May I become a person who has Your Words so deeply planted within me, that people can’t help but see You when they interact with me.
Lord, empower me to be someone who actively brings Your kingdom here to earth. Lead me to conversations with people that need encouragement, love, and truth. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
