Encouragement for Imperfect Fathers

DAY 1 OF 6

Don't Stop Wooing Your Children's Hearts

I am an imperfect father. Many times in the past, I was not the best father I could have been. Not by a long shot. My three children experienced the divorce of their parents when they were young. However, God has been redeeming my family story. Jesus has shown me that He takes the little I bring and uses it as only He can. This plan encourages us, imperfect fathers, to keep bringing our 'little' and allowing Jesus to do the rest. If he did it for someone like me, He can do it for you.

There was a period of time when every time my children spent the weekend with their mom, they would come back home behaving cold and disrespectful towards me. But I determined that if I had to do it a million times, I would win back their hearts with love every time. I tried to return their rough words with gentleness and affection. Inevitably by the middle of the week, their hearts would soften, and my loving children would return.

It wasn't easy, but I was convinced that only love could make a difference. Then one day, it just stuck! Sometimes they would even come back with a better attitude!

As fathers, it is our privilege to woo our children's hearts. Our unconditional love gives God a platform to transform hearts and redeem relationships!

Pray:

Jesus, fill me with Your love. Help me to love my family with the type of love that returns blessing for cursing and keeps giving without expecting anything in return. Thank You, Jesus.

About this Plan

Encouragement for Imperfect Fathers

Being a good father is tough. It takes time. It takes energy. It takes dedication. Sometimes we can feel like we are failing. Sometimes we wonder if we are really making a difference. If you can relate, this plan was created specifically to encourage you, because you are making a bigger difference than you know!
