The Jesus Bible Reading Planნიმუში

THE GOOD NEWS
The world is full of bad news, and all of the bad news the world has ever known can be traced back to the Garden of Eden when Adam and Eve disobeyed God (Ge 3:1 – 24). Disobeying God’s Word always leads to pain and suffering. Thankfully, God doesn’t leave people in their pain. As soon as Adam and Eve brought chaos into God’s good world, God promised to one day make everything right again (Ge 3:15). Humanity’s fall corrupted God’s perfect world and brought all of this bad news. But God comes to people with the gospel, the “Good News” that God has covered believers’ sins through the work of Jesus and will one day make all things right through him.
The gospel is not the news of what people must do in order to get to God; rather, the gospel is the news of what God has done to make a bridge to people. With Jesus, the reign and presence of God came into the world in a special way. Jesus came to fix the wrongs by going to the cross and by being broken for the sin of the world. God is in the business of “making everything new” (Rev 21:5). This is the Good News that Jesus came to share, and this is the news his people can tell their friends, family and others throughout the world as well.
Jesus, show me someone with whom I can share your good news, and give me the words their heart needs to hear. Amen.
