Mindful Parenting

DAY 3 OF 4

And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief. Mark 9:24 (KJV)

When it is difficult to do parenting right or completely believe God for our children's well-being, it may indicate our subconscious mind is yet to align with the truth we have mentally accepted. The child’s father had seen the worst of things happen to his child. His experience created a battle in his mind. Thankfully, he did not let his negative parenting experience interfere with the possibilities Jesus presented to his child. He recognized there was a war within and humbly asked Jesus for help.

Like the father of the deaf and dumb child (see Mark 9:14-29), we must not give up. We must keep hope alive for our children, passionately cry out to God for help, and enforce victory over unbelief.

We can be vulnerable with God.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I thank you that you meet me where I am. I confess that I find it difficult to believe your Word. Help my unbelief! In the name of Jesus, give me the grace to believe everything your Word says about my children. Thank you, Father, for helping me.
