He Will Make All Things Right!

DAY 1 OF 11

How did the world get so messed up?

Genesis 1:1: “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

Genesis 1:31: “God saw all that he had made, and it was very good.

Lucifer was one of the highest angels in God’s creation (see Ezekiel 18:13-15; Isaiah 14:12-14), but he wanted more. He became jealous of God, and decided he was as good as God. This was the first sin. He knew he couldn’t hurt God directly so he decided to deceive Adam and Eve, the people God had made in His own image, the pinnacle of His creation. By causing them to sin he would ruin the world God had created so beautifully. That story is in Genesis 3, and since then all creation groans in agony – awaiting our redemption (see Romans 8:18-25).

Sin is like cancer – it spreads and destroys everything in its path. Sin was never forced on us – we chose it. Romans 3:23 says that all have sinned and fallen short of God’s glory.

One our most precious gifts is free will. God would get no pleasure out of the forced worship of robots; He does not force us to love Him. He gave us freedom to choose to love Him, or not to love Him. Choosing to run to Him in love is the only way we could ever experience a real, transformational relationship with Him; as we choose His ways over our own selfish desires. Our free will also allows us to selfishly choose to serve ourselves instead of Him – and that is what has happened from the beginning of the human race until today.

Psalm 53:1-3: “The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, and their ways are vile; there is no one who does good.God looks down from heaven on all mankind to see if there are any who understand, any who seek God. Everyone has turned away, all have become corrupt; there is no one who does good, not even one.”

Now we are experiencing the results of thousands of years of sin and the devastation and chaos it has created. It’s only because of God’s many interventions that things aren’t much worse.

Reflection: Have we tended to blame others, or even blame God for the decadence that is rampant everywhere? Are we ready to adventure with God to enjoy the solution?

Day 2

About this Plan

He Will Make All Things Right!

With chaos seeming to rule all over the world: wars, persecution, shortages, famine, etc; we need to know if we’ll get through this life, and if God cares. The overwhelming conclusion is “Yes, God will make all things right!” Walk with us through scripture passages that encourage us to lift our eyes and rejoice in His sovereignty over all things.
