Her True Worth: A 5-Day Plan

DAY 4 OF 5

It’s time to stop partnering with low-identity thinking and start seeing ourselves and others as highly favored and precious in the eyes of our Father. If we are created in his image and he is love, then that’s what we are to become. Friend, you are loved and precious in his sight.

It’s not, “You are loved if you fix this and change that.” No. You are loved by God, and that is it. You are precious in his sight in this moment. Right now. He loves you because love is literally what he is (1 John 4:8). Not only were you created in his image, but your life has great value to God. Scripture says we are co-laborers with God (1 Corinthians 3:9). And we have the incredible privilege of loving others by co-laboring with God (or co-loving). . . .

We get to wake up each day and be his children and shine the light and love of Christ everywhere we go. That purpose remains unchanged by whatever our circumstances may be. It simply requires being love in action to those around us.

Even if we are mistreated or rejected, we don’t have to allow sin against us to produce sin within us. When we co-labor with God in loving others, we are called to love even those who are hard to love. “Love your enemies,” Jesus said. “Do good to those who hate you” (Luke 6:27).

Although it’s hard to imagine loving those who hurt us, it helps if we can start with compassion. We can try to see them through the lens of love by understanding they have wounds and struggles just like we do.

Prayer

Father, I want to labor in your field and share your gospel with others. Please help me to work faithfully and love others. Amen.
