Light Forward

DAY 2 OF 4

Be Intentional

To live a light forward life, you have to pay close attention to how you conduct yourself.

Paul tells us in Ephesians 5:15, “So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise.”

Be careful how you live and do not live a thoughtless, inattentive life; instead, pay attention - close attention to how you live your life. Be present, be engaged. Do not speak thoughtless words or make thoughtless moves. Pay attention to your life. No random living. Instead, live with intentionality.

We are to live a calculated life, walk a calculated walk, and live a cautious life. God expects us to live a very deliberate life. A deliberate life starts with the end in mind. God said to the Jews in Isaiah 46:10: “Declaring the end and the result from the beginning, And from ancient times the things which have not [yet] been done, Saying, ‘My purpose will be established, And I will do all that pleases Me and fulfills My purpose,'" (AMP). Only God can declare the end from the beginning so that when it happens we know that He alone is God. So, be intentional, don’t just leave your life to chance. Be intentional, pay close attention to how you conduct yourself. Where are you going with your life?

A young man looking for a job might be asked, "What do you want to do?", and he answers, "Any job will do". This attitude portrays a sense of responsibility and shows that he is open to taking any job, as long as it puts food on his table, which is fantastic from a responsibility standpoint. However, from a purpose and destiny standpoint, you must have a clear vision of what you want to do with your life. Even if God needs to adjust it, He will. God can work better with someone who has a plan and adjusts the plan, than with someone who does not have a plan.

Check everyone Jesus called. They had something they were doing. Were they doing what God wanted them to do? Not exactly, but they were intentional. God always goes for intentional people, people who have a clear-cut idea of what they want to do with their time and with their life. Pay attention to how you conduct yourself.
