Come to the Table

DAY 4 OF 6

1 Corinthians 11: 25, In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.”

Historically the cup of wine drunk at the Passover was called the cup of Redemption.

We know that Jesus' Blood makes a way for us to boldly enter His throne room of grace. We enter by a new and living way. Not by the blood of goats and bulls but by the bloodshed by our Saviour.

What is this NEW Covenant?

It is a covenant of unfailing love, grace and mercy. It is a covenant that restores our broken relationship with the Father.

It is a covenant that makes us children of God and co-heirs with Christ. His shed blood is a reminder that all our sins have been dealt with once and for all – past, present and future sins. We have His righteousness imputed to us. I never have to work to win His favour. I am already loved and favoured.

It’s a covenant that says never again will we be separated from the love of God which we have in Jesus.

This is such great truth to remember and rejoice in. It is amazing.

Take a moment to thank Jesus for all that you have because of His death on the Cross. Can you think of 5 things that are now yours because you are a part of God's family?
