DAY 3 OF 7

Jesus Is the Source

As Jesus walked by, John looked at Him and declared, “This is the Lamb of God.” John’s job was to prepare the way for Jesus Christ. That was his call. So, what did he do? He told everyone, “That’s the Lamb of God.”

I love John the Baptist. He pointed people to Jesus. My question is, are we pointing people to Jesus?

People have to encounter Jesus, not us. That’s why, when people come to me and say, “Ryan, I’m struggling with drug and porn addiction; my life is messed up,” I point them to Jesus. I say, “Cool. We’re going to anoint you with oil, like it says in James 4. We’re going to pray and ask God for a miracle. Jesus can help you.” I can’t heal you. I can’t fix your family. Jesus is the one who healed me! He’s the one who drove out my addictions. Jesus is the one.

We all waste too much time complaining and going to people about our problems when we need to go to Jesus. Isn’t Jesus the God of the universe? Didn’t Jesus speak everything into existence? Isn’t He the one who created us? He can transform us.

Take all your cares, burdens, and problems to Jesus. Call on the name of the Lord. Whosoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Whosoever: that means anybody, from rich to poor. Jesus Christ came to set the captives free. There’s power in the name of Jesus.

So, wherever you are and whatever you’re going through: Jesus is the source. Open the Bible and read His words. Learn the Jesus stories in Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. He will speak to you.

About this Plan

Follow Me

This plan, based on John 1, focuses on the start of Jesus’ ministry and how disciples began to follow Him. Andrew, Peter, Philip and Nathanael teach us what it means to be Jesus’ disciple. Their actions give us an example for our own spiritual walk.
