Discover the Power of PrayerSample
Live the indestructible life 💪
Four years ago, I was living a dream come true. I was skiing in the Swiss Alps before speaking at a leadership conference. Then, the unthinkable happened: my right leg stopped working. My friends took me to a local doctor. He told us to rush to a hospital. We’d neglected to secure travel insurance, so I decided to tough it out. In retrospect, I realize that was a bad decision.
On my return to Las Vegas, I decided to follow up with my doctor. Somehow my condition was missed. No one could tell me what happened to me or the potential time bomb that would nearly take me out. Have you ever faced a life-threatening illness? It’s horrible, isn’t it? Then I experienced a stroke. It wasn’t just the stroke itself that traumatized me—it was everything that followed. Trauma caused by illness can cause some long-term emotional effects. If you’ve ever had a major health scare, you know that’s true.
How have you handled your trials and tribulations? How are you handling COVID and its repercussions?
After my stroke, I did the only thing I could to help me regain my health: I prayed like crazy. For many months, I struggled in prayer. I finally decided I was going to do everything I could to get better. Prayer led to action, and action led me to answers.
In Hebrews, the author speaks of experiencing the indestructible life: “one who has become a priest not on the basis of a regulation as to his ancestry but on the basis of the power of an indestructible life.” (Hebrews 7:16, NIV) Do you want your life to be indestructible? Here are a few things that I did to fight back after my stroke:
- I searched for healthy tools to help me recover, such as oxygen chambers, better nutrition, and PEMF (Pulsed Electromagnetic Field) treatments.
- I went for counseling to process my feelings.
- I did physical therapy and sought the best medical help.
- I prayed constantly.
I pray that the power of the Holy Spirit helps you develop your battle plan to live the indestructible life because you are a miracle.
