DAY 7 OF 8

Let’s evaluate our thoughts and our lives. The question is, are we people pleasers longing for acceptance from others versus Christ? When we learn to walk in our Christ-given identity, we no longer need to seek approval or acceptance from others, no need to worry about how the world sees us. We have the perfect Word of God. We see many beautiful examples of the worth, dignity, and value Christ grants to us.

We must choose to live from a place of authenticity, love, and acceptance. We need not be distracted by the “what ifs”… what if they don’t like me, what are they going to think, what if I don’t measure up, what if I didn’t struggle in this way? We can confidently walk in our purpose because Christ gives us our identity and assures us of our worth. We are made worthy because of His blood sacrifice on the cross. He chose to die for us, (John 15:16-17). He enables us to be givers instead of takers. Giving of ourselves, we can now come from the abundance and overflow of our hearts. Our hearts overflow with love, purpose, worth, and security that we’ve received in Christ instead of desperately seeking situations and people from whom we want to receive validation.

We get to choose from this day forward to renew our minds daily, to wash in our God-given identity. Romans 12:2 states, “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” We get to walk in the good, acceptable, and perfect will of God. We get to throw away the identity given to us by the world system and rest in Jesus’ love and identity for us.

Reflection: What do these Scriptures reveal about the character of Christ?

Recognize: In light of this information, how are we called to live?

Respond: In light of this information, how will you deal with your family and sphere of influence now? Are you walking in your God-given identity?

About this Plan

Women of Worth

A good part of my life has been spent questioning my worth and my purpose as a woman. In my journey to discover my true identity in Christ, I went to the one place that would unravel the truth about me, the Word of God.
