Finding Jesus Through the Fog of Separation or DivorceSample

He gives us hope and joy.

When I was going through a divorce I felt so fearful. The fear was paralyzing. Fear kills hope. It can cripple us. Fear can steal our joy. Fear makes our problems seem bigger than they are. Fear makes Satan appear more powerful than he is. Fear is the enemy of God's people because it is the enemy of faith. 

Darling sister,  God does not want His people to live in fear or to lose hope. The enemy manipulates our fears against us to prevent us from walking into our calling. He wants us to feel alone, defeated, and abandoned by God. He wants us to lose our boldness and courage and stop moving forward in faith. And for you specifically dear sister, he wants you to feel excluded from God's promises because you are separated or divorced or going through a valley right now. This is his agenda because he is the deceiver. 

But we can have victory. When we are afraid, fear can turn to hope when we apply scripture to our lives. Let’s try this with God’s promises found in Isaiah 41:13. Declare them over your life. 

I don't need to fear because my God is close to me and He is holding me right now;

I don't need to fear because my God cares about me and gives me a place of honor. I matter to God; 

I don't need to fear because I belong to God and He cares about my circumstances;

I don’t need to fear because God chooses to speak to me;

I don't need to fear because God is telling me not to;

I don't need to fear because God is with me right now, I am in His presence;

I don't need to fear because God is saying that He will help me; 

As we renew our minds by affirming and accepting God's truths we move forward in the battle to conquer our fears and we start to remove the power of the lies of the enemy over us. We take the first steps to live by faith. Faith in the One who will not let us down, the one who will deliver – the great deliverer, Jesus Christ. 

Reflect 

I can have hope because God is the same yesterday, today, and in the future. God can and will take all my fear and replace it with Hope and Joy.
