Finding Jesus Through the Fog of Separation or DivorceSample

He protects and guides us.

As a married woman, I believed it was my husband's role to protect and guide me. Then I was divorced and alone. Who would protect and guide me? 

Deep inside,  I knew that God was rescuing me but it didn’t feel like God was close. Instead fear became my constant paralyzing companion. I was focusing on my fears about my divorce instead of drawing near to God’s comforting presence. Leaving God’s presence in times of difficulty when we are most vulnerable is what the enemy wants. We become an easy target and open to his schemes. 

Dear Sister, God did not create us to navigate the storms of life on our own. The future is never grim and scary if we accept the shelter that God offers when we are in distress. There is a sacred and safe place in the presence of God, under the shelter of His wings.  And it is the place where we can seek refuge. When we enter, we find comfort, protection, and instruction. 

God longs to inspire us through His divinely guided scriptures and through the presence of His Holy Spirit. But we must choose to enter and stay in His presence. 

He wants us to embrace the journey of pain by learning to lean on Him.  He wants us to run to Him and stay with Him so we experience the beauty of His attributes, the mercy of His favor, His encouragement, and protection during trials. 

Alone there is no strength in us. We cannot act without God's grace, so we cannot claim it nor pretend to deserve it. God's goodwill to us is the cause of his good work in us. His resurrection means that He is alive before the throne to grant us the peace and strength we need.

 In the shadow of the Almighty is where I found guidance and ultimate protection. Under His wings and in His presence I was able to hear Him and I found relief for my fears. 

Reflect

Seeking God’s presence in his word and prayer will help me find peace and protection. In God, I will find all the guidance, protection, and wisdom that I need without fear.
