DAY 5 OF 7

Matthew 28:1-7 NIV

1 After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb. 2 There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it. 3 His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow. 4 The guards were so afraid of him that they shook and became like dead men. 5 The angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. 6 He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. 7 Then go quickly and tell his disciples: 'He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.' Now I have told you."

"It's Got To Be Somewhere"

Growing up, my mom was the best at finding things that were lost. I have a big family, and whenever someone would come to her about lost keys or a missing item of clothing, she would always say, "well, it's got to be somewhere!" Looking back, I believe that my mom's ability to find things was connected to her belief that they could be found. The same is true with your hope - hope isn't lost, even though it might feel that way to you. In the above scriptures, when the disciples and Mary couldn't find Jesus, they began to feel hopeless, but just because they couldn't see Him didn't mean He wasn't there.

We serve a God who specializes in bringing light out of darkness, life out of death, and miracles out of seemingly impossible situations. I like to say that God doesn't CAUSE everything, but He does USE everything and will work it for His glory. It might seem like all hope is lost, but let me encourage you that, in the words of my mom, "it has to be somewhere." Your breakthrough is hidden in the belief that there is breakthrough to be found.

Keep Looking

No matter how difficult a season might be or how lost you might feel, God is working on your behalf and has an answer for your situation. Don't give up!

About this Plan

Feed Your Faith

What are you expecting right now? Are you expecting that bad things are going to happen to you, or are you expecting that God is going to show up in your life? Our fear can be a self-fulfilling prophecy. In the same way, our faith can also direct the course of our life. Fear maximizes danger, while faith maximizes God!
