DAY 1 OF 7

Matthew 14:25-31 NIV

25 Shortly before dawn, Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake. 26 When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. “It’s a ghost,” they said, and cried out in fear.

27 But Jesus immediately said to them: “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.” 28 “Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.” 29 “Come,” he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water, and came toward Jesus. 30 But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!” 31 Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?

Water walkers

Have you ever doubted God? Have you ever felt like you are slowly sinking into the chaos that is life? What if I told you that there’s a way that you can walk on what others are sinking in?

We all feel like we’re sinking at times. We sink when what is around us becomes more of a focus than what’s ahead of us. Peter begins to sink when his focus moved from His Savior to his storm. As soon as he began to fixate on the wind and the waves, he began to sink. When he was walking on the water, it was when he was focused on the Savior. Hebrews 12 says to “fix your eyes on Jesus.” If you’re focused on Him, you can walk on what others are sinking in!

Storm Survivors

It can be difficult to understand that following God doesn’t mean that we won’t go through storms, but He promises that He will be with us in the midst of them. We are going to have to walk through storms, but if we can fix our eyes on Jesus, what is around us will have no power over us.

The good news is that we don’t have to face storms in the same way the world does. We face storms with the confidence and the knowledge that God is with us and for us, and if He asked us to get out of the boat then we can be assured that He will provide supernatural power to walk on the water. Fix your eyes on Him!

Day 2

About this Plan

Feed Your Faith

What are you expecting right now? Are you expecting that bad things are going to happen to you, or are you expecting that God is going to show up in your life? Our fear can be a self-fulfilling prophecy. In the same way, our faith can also direct the course of our life. Fear maximizes danger, while faith maximizes God!
